The ISSA Metro Atlanta Chapter offers Training and Career Development in four areas.  These resources are free to ISSA Members in our Chapter.  To join ISSA, click on the "Join ISSA!" button on the top right corner of this page.  There are options for Government, Executive, General and Student memberships.

1.  Entry Level Cybersecurity Fundamentals: 

Target Audience: People with little to no education or experience in the field who wants to explore what the profession holds.  Content: Presentations on security fundamentals, risk management, security vocabulary, and similar building blocks.  This is for self-awareness only.  There is no certification associated with this option.

2.  ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity Exam Preparation:  

Target Audience: Entry level professionals seeking their first certification.   Delivery:  Self-paced, online with ad-hoc live sessions available as needed.  Content: One-hour videos and 8 lesson plans, one per Domain plus an introductory session  Includes non-CISSP information useful in a cybersecurity career  

This course does not include the cost of the exam if there is a cost in the future.

 Currently, ISC2 is offering the Cybersecurity Training and Exam free for a limited time.

3.  ISC2 CISSP Exam Preparation:

Target audience: Mid-career cybersecurity prpofessionals seeking to move into leadership and beyond technical positions.  The CISSP has certain requirements.  Those who do not meet experience requirements may become CISSP Associates of ISC2 pending achievement of experience requirements.  Delivery: Self-paced, online with ad-hoc live sessions available as needed.  Content: One-hour videos and 8 lesson plans, one per Domain plus and introductory session.  Includes non-CISSP information useful in a cybersecurity career.

Note 1:  The CISSP Exam was refreshed in May, 2024.  The exam outline is available on the ISC2 website.  ISC2 has not published a formal update of their textbook, the "Common Body of Knowledge" or "CBK".  The course we offer is based on the 2021 Common Body of Knowledge and updated with publicly available information.

Note 2: This course does not include the cost of the exam which currently is $749.

4.  Entry and Mid-Career Coaching & Mentoring:  Target Audience: Entry-level people who are moving into their first professional position.  Mid-Career changers with professional experience outside of cybersecurity but now moving into the profession.  Delivery: One on one scheduled remote sessions.  Content: Focus is on what the Chapter member's career growth may look like and what they can do to boost their employability in the professional.
